SH-5 Harbin patrol/ASW aircraft

Originally known as the PS5, the SH-5 Harbin is a large flying boat flown primarily in the anti-submarine warfare (ASW) role, but also capable of acting as a transport and search-and-rescue (SAR) aircraft.

The SH-5 resembles a cross between the Russian Be-12 Mail and the Japanese Shin Meiwa US-1 amphibious aircraft, having the twin tail of the Be-12 and the hull form, wing placement and four-engine layout of the US-1. The SH-5 is longer than either and has a greater wingspan. The...
