The KJ-600 is a turboprop airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) aircraft designed to operate from China's future aircraft carrier. It will fill a similar role to the U.S. Navy's E-2D Advanced Hawkeye. It is believed to be an advanced derivative of the Xi'an Y-7 cargo aircraft. China is also expected to develop carrier onboard delivery and anti-submarine warfare variants based on the same airframe.
