The EA-6B is a modified A-6 Intruder attack aircraft design with significantly more electronic warfare (EW)/electronic countermeasures (ECM) capability than the earlier EA-6A variant. With the retirement of the U.S. Air Force's EF-111 Ravens, Prowlers acquired sole responsibility for tactical EW missions for both the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Air Force.
