The A-100 Premier is the newest airborne warning and control system (AWACS) aircraft under construction for the Russian air force. It is based on the Il-76MD-90A aircraft, the latest version of the venerable Il-76 Candid design. The A-100 is intended to succeed the current A-50 AWACS, which is also known as the Il-76 Mainstay.
