The Shahed 285 is an armed variant of Iran's Shahed family of helicopters, all of which are derived from the Bell 206 Jet Ranger design. Shahed means "witness" in Farsi. The 285 is likely intended for reconnaissance and light attack missions. Army and navy variants have been developed, but no army or naval versions have been deployed in significant numbers.
