The Light Utility Helicopter (LUH) is being developed by Hindustan Aeronautics (HAL) for the Indian armed forces. The aircraft is intended to replace aging Cheetah and Chetak helicopters in all three military services. The LUH is expected to be used for surveillance, reconnaissance, quick-response, transport, special operations and evacuation missions. HAL also hopes to export the helicopter. Civilian variants are planned.
