The KF-21 Boramae (Korean for "Hawk") is a South Korean program to develop an indigenous fighter to replace aging F-4 and F-5 aircraft. The program was originally known as the KF-X. Plans call for an initial procurement of 120 of the jets. The KF-21 could eventually replace South Korea's KF-16 fighters, leading to a total fleet of around 250 aircraft.
Indonesia is also participating in the program, and plans to buy at least 50 fighters.
