The Multirole Transport Aircraft (MTA) is a joint project between India and Russia to develop a medium-lift cargo plane. Plans called for each nation to build the aircraft, with costs being split equally. Current projections call for around 200 aircraft to be produced. There are also plans to develop a passenger variant with up to 100 seats.
