The Jetstream is a multipurpose aircraft used in both civil and military service. In its military role, it is used for training, patrol and light transport duties.
The Jetstream has a conventional design, featuring double-tapered wings set low at mid-fuselage, a relatively high single tailfin with wide tailplanes inset at the base, twin turboprop engines faired into pods above the wings, and retractable tricycle landing gear.
