The C-7 Caribou was the U.S. designation for the DHC-4 Caribou , a Canadian-built, short-takeoff-and-landing (STOL) tactical transport that could carry cargo, passengers and drop paratroops. Its STOL design was developed by DeHavilland of Canada together with the U.S. and Canadian armies in the mid-1950s.
