The Beriev A-40 (previously known by the NATO code name Tag-D) is the largest amphibious aircraft in the world. The Beriev design bureau in Taganrog, which developed the A-40, built all previous post-World War II Soviet/Russian flying boat and amphibious aircraft designs.
