The GA22 was an unmanned surveillance airship built for the Spanish Defense Ministry by Lindstrand Technology, a British company founded by Swedish balloonist Per Lindstrand. In 2007, the design was purchased by BAE Systems, which developed it into a larger model for civilian purposes (see "Variants" below).
The airship had a helium volume of 10,600 cu ft (300 cu m), was 69 ft (21 m) long, with a top speed of 57 knots (66 mph, 106 kmh) and an endurance of 24 hours. It had a...
