On Oct. 12, 2026, Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz and Deputy Defense Minister Magdalena Sobkowiak-Czarnecka attended the Warsaw Security Forum, where Kosiniak-Kamysz met with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization's (NATO) Supreme Allied Commander Europe, Gen. Alexus Grynkewich, and other senior U.S., NATO, and European defense officials.
Opening a panel on building Europe’s military strength, Kosiniak-Kamysz argued that Europe must take more responsibility for its own defense by creating independent supply chains and easing troop movement across borders. He noted that Poland has received about a third of the European Union's SAFE defense funds, most of which has gone to its domestic defense industry.
He also stated that Poland wants a lasting alliance with the United States, including a permanent U.S. troop presence and co-production of systems such as Patriot missiles in Europe. Sobkowiak-Czarnecka added that foreign companies selling to Poland must invest locally through maintenance centers, co-production, local suppliers, or training.
