The Malaysian navy has decided to equip its Teluk Sepanggar naval base with an advanced air defense system, reports Bernama, Malaysia's national news agency.
The new system, which should be able to combat future threats, is needed in response to developments in the South China Sea and eastern Sabah waters, said Defense Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein.
