Mexico Acquires Second C-130J-30 Super Hercules

On Sept. 23, 2026, Lockheed Martin announced that Mexico had acquired a second C-130J-30 Super Hercules aircraft. The purchase follows Mexico’s first C-130J-30 acquisition in January 2026 and will expand the country’s airlift capacity. The additional aircraft will support humanitarian relief efforts and other missions throughout the region.

The C-130J-30 is an extended version of the C-130J designed to carry more cargo. Its fuselage is 15 feet (4.6 m) longer, with sections added forward and aft of the wing to create additional interior space. This increased capacity allows the aircraft to transport personnel, equipment, and supplies during tactical and rapid-response operations.
