The South Korean military has begun an annual joint military exercise, reports the Yonhap news agency (Seoul).
The Hoguk exercise is scheduled to run from Oct. 19 through Oct. 30, South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff announced on Oct. 16.
Seoul has run the Hoguk drills in the second half of each year since 1996. It is focused on maintaining military readiness and improving joint operational capabilities, the joint chiefs said.
