Jaish-e-Mohammed/Khuddam-ul-Islam

Jaish-e-Mohammed (JEM), or the Army of Mohammed. JEM has renamed itself Khuddam-ul-Islam. The group previously used the alias Tehrik-ul-Furqan to evade U.S. sanctions. Jamaat ul-Furqan (JUF) is a faction of JEM.

The group is based in Peshawar and Muzaffarabad in Pakistan. JEM conducts most of its terrorist operations in Jammu and Kashmir. The group has been accused of running centers in the Pakistani towns of Balakot, Bhimber and Bhawalpur. It maintains a presence in the remaining...
