Nusra Front/Hayat Tahrir al-Sham

The group is commonly referred to as Nusra Front. It has also been known as al-Nusra Front, Jabhat al-Nusra, Jabhat an-Nusrah li-Ahli ash-Sham, Al-Qaida in Syria, Al-Qaida in the Levant and Tanzim Qa'edat Al-Jihad fi Bilad Al-Sham.  The name was occasionally mistranslated as “the Victory Front” because of the similarity of words in Arabic.
