Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization (MEK)

Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization (MEK or MKO); the National Liberation Army (NLA, the militant wing of MEK); People's Mujahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI); or the Muslim Iranian Society (a front used for financial support). The Paris-based National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) is the group's political wing. The Iranian government often refers to the MEK with the derogatory name "Monafiqeen," meaning "the hypocrites."
