Lebanon. In 2008, the group moved its base from the Nahr al-Bared refugee camp north of Tripoli to the Ain al-Hilweh camp southeast of Sidon.
Following the start of the Syrian civil war in 2011, some former Fatah al-Islam members were reportedly fighting alongside militant and rebel groups in Syria.
