Euskadi Ta Askatasuna (ETA), "Basque Fatherland and Liberty."

ETA primarily operated in Basque autonomous areas of northern Spain and southwestern France but has conducted attacks elsewhere. Cells were believed to be located in Europe, South America and North Africa. Their status after ETA's announced disarmament was not immediately known.
