Movement for Unity and Jihad in West Africa (MUJWA/MUJAO)

The Movement for Unity and Jihad in West Africa (MUJWA). The group is commonly referred to by its French acronym, MUJAO. It is also called the Movement for the Oneness and Jihad in West Africa. 

The word “Oneness” is a translation of the Arabic word “Tawhid,” a reference to the monotheistic nature of Islam and a common part of group-naming conventions for Islamic militants.
