OVERVIEW

The Turkish air force (Turk Hava Kuvvetleri) is equipped to handle humanitarian aid operations, crisis response, peacekeeping operations, low-intensity conflict and conventional warfare. Headquartered at Ankara, the air force is organized as follows:

  2 tactical air forces (east and west), with
    9 fighter/ground attack squadrons
    2 ISR squadrons
    1 search-and-rescue squadron
    1 AEW&C squadron
    1 electronic warfare squadron
