OVERVIEW

The Royal Canadian Air Force is responsible for the defense of Canadian airspace and support of land- and sea-based commands. Air force personnel also operate all naval aviation assets.

The Canadian air force is organized as follows:

  1 air division
    14 wings
    1 regional NORAD HQ, with
      47 North Warning System sites
      1 regional operational control center
      4 coastal radars
      2 transportable radars
