The Albanian military has been in a state of transition since widespread civil unrest in 1997. All numbers regarding equipment and personnel should be treated with this in mind. No combat aircraft are known to have flown since 1998. Flying hours for pilots are inadequate to stay abreast of most types of aircraft, with many pilots flying but 10-15 hours a year.
