OVERVIEW

The Egyptian air force is responsible for all airborne defense missions and operates all military aircraft, including those used in support of the Egyptian army and navy.

The Egyptian air force is organized into:

    3 fighter/ground attack squadrons
    16 fighter squadrons
    5 transport fixed-wing squadrons
    5 attack helicopter squadrons
